Meet the JUA Board
The Board of Directors of the Washington State Joint Underwriting Association for Midwives & Birthing Centers provides strategic oversight and guidance to ensure the JUA fulfills its mission of supporting safe, high-quality care in community birth settings.
Our Board includes experienced professionals from the fields of midwifery and insurance. Together, they bring diverse perspectives and a shared commitment to sustaining access to liability coverage for licensed midwives and birth centers throughout Washington State.

JUA Program Administrator
Wendy Gordon, DM, MPH, CPM, LM
Wendy Gordon serves as the Program Administrator for the Washington State JUA. In this role, she oversees the daily operations of the JUA, supports policyholders, manages risk reduction initiatives, and ensures the organization’s compliance with regulatory requirements. With over two decades of experience as a midwife, educator, and advocate, Wendy brings deep knowledge of the midwifery profession and a strong commitment to advancing safe, equitable care in community birth settings. She works closely with the Board of Directors, insurance partners, and policyholders to help sustain and strengthen this vital program.
